| But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. | The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. |

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. | They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. |
| In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. | When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. |
| Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. | Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. |

| Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. | Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy. |
