| Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. | To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. | Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. |

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. |
| This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. | This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. |

| Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. | Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear. |

| When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up. | I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. |
| Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. | Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. |
| I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. | I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth. |
| Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. | Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. |

| Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. | Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. |
| He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. | Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them. |
| And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. | If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. |
