Bible Verses about Dependence

For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.
I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.
Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.
The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.

But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!
In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life.

For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. They did not conquer the land with their swords; it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory. It was your right hand and strong arm and the blinding light from your face that helped them, for you loved them.
Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
