37 Bible Verses about Dependence - KJV & NIV

For I the Lord thy God
will hold thy right hand,
saying unto thee, Fear not;
I will help thee.
For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
A man's heart deviseth his way:
but the Lord directeth his steps.
In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps.
My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
He giveth power to the faint;
and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
I have set the Lord always before me:
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich,
and he addeth no sorrow with it.
The blessing of the Lord brings wealth,
without painful toil for it.
When I said, My foot slippeth;
thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.
When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
Except the Lord build the house,
they labour in vain that build it:
except the Lord keep the city,
the watchman waketh but in vain.
Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
NIV | God
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
I called upon the Lord in distress:
the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.
When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
he brought me into a spacious place.
Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge.
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword,
neither did their own arm save them:
but thy right hand, and thine arm,
and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
It was not by their sword that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them victory;
it was your right hand, your arm,
and the light of your face, for you loved them.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
NIV | sin
Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts,
cause thy face to shine;
and we shall be saved.
Restore us, Lord God Almighty;
make your face shine on us,
that we may be saved.
