I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. | I love you, Yahweh, my strength. Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower. |
My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. | My salvation and my honor is with God. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. |
|
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. | He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken. |
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. | My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. |
You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope. | You are my hiding place and my shield. I hope in your word. |
You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. | For you will light my lamp, Yahweh. My God will light up my darkness. |
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. | He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress. I will never be greatly shaken. |
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. | Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer. |
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. | Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. |
The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. | Yahweh is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him. |
My child, if your heart is wise, my own heart will rejoice! | My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad, even mine. |
Hear my prayer, O Lord! Listen to my cries for help! Don’t ignore my tears. For I am your guest— a traveler passing through, as my ancestors were before me. | Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry. Don’t be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were. |
And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations. | I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them. |
Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. | Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you. |
I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart. | I delight to do your will, my God. Yes, your law is within my heart. |
But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears. | In my distress I called on Yahweh, and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry before him came into his ears. |
Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. | He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him. |
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! | Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God. |
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. | My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him. |
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. | If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. |
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. | My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. |
When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. | When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. |
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. | I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. |
You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord. | You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Yahweh. |
The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? | Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? |
