- But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.
- Let your loving kindness be on us, Yahweh,
since we have hoped in you. - Yahweh, you are my God. I will exalt you! I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago, in complete faithfulness and truth.
- Know therefore that Yahweh your God himself is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness to a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments.
- Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
- Yet I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt;
and you shall acknowledge no god but me,
and besides me there is no savior. - But our God is in the heavens.
He does whatever he pleases. - God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.
- Praise Yahweh, my soul!
All that is within me, praise his holy name! - But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
- Because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.
- My soul rests in God alone.
My salvation is from him. - Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness,
for you reward every man according to his work. - Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.
- Behold, God is my helper.
The Lord is the one who sustains my soul. - No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.
- For there is not a word on my tongue,
but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. - You, Yahweh, remain forever.
Your throne is from generation to generation. - Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion!
Shout, daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King comes to you!
He is righteous, and having salvation;
lowly, and riding on a donkey,
even on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
- In you, Yahweh, I take refuge.
Let me never be disappointed.
Deliver me in your righteousness. - God will bless us.
All the ends of the earth shall fear him. - God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.
