Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. |
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. | Asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. |

The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot. | We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. |

You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. | You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked. |
Children’s children are the crown of old men, And the glory of children is their father. | Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children. |
Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever. | For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. |
