Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise.A fool rejects his father’s discipline, But he who complies with rebuke is sensible.
Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.Better is a little with the fear of the Lord Than great treasure, and turmoil with the treasure.
Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success.Without consultation, plans are frustrated, But with many counselors they succeed.
Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time!A person has joy in an apt answer, And how delightful is a timely word!
Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor.The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom, And before honor comes humility.
Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established.

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.The mind of a person plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.

A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.A perverse person spreads strife, And a slanderer separates close friends.
Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And one who rules his spirit, than one who captures a city.

Eloquent words are not fitting for a fool; even less are lies fitting for a ruler.Excellent speech is not fitting for a fool, Much less are lying lips to a prince.
Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.One who conceals an offense seeks love, But one who repeats a matter separates close friends.
A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.
Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is considered prudent.
Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions.A fool does not delight in understanding, But in revealing his own mind.
Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating.A fool’s lips bring strife, And his mouth invites beatings.
Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one’s heart.The words of a gossiper are like dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts of the body.
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe.
The rich think of their wealth as a strong defense; they imagine it to be a high wall of safety.A rich person’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own imagination.
Haughtiness goes before destruction; humility precedes honor.Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty, But humility goes before honor.

Giving a gift can open doors; it gives access to important people!A person’s gift makes room for him And brings him before great people.
