| Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. | Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established. |
| Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. | May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel. |
| He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. | He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. |
| Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit. | Then I saw all the labor and achievement that is the envy of a man’s neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind. |

| Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. | Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man. |
| Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. | Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. |
| And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself. | And keep the instruction of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn yourself. |
