| For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. | “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.” |
| A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. | A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. |
| Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. | May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel. |
| Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. | Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established. |
| There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. | There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail. |

| Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. | Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint. |

| Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. | Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets. |
| Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. | Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright. |
