The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. | The conclusion, when everything has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. |

Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil. | But make sure your statement is, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil origin. |
Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners. | Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners. |
