Do not say, “Why is it that the former days were better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.
Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you now believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word.Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be noticed by people but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
My soul, wait in silence for God alone, For my hope is from Him.My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them or abandon them, For You are a gracious and compassionate God.Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Now if a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, he is still guilty and shall bear his punishment. And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
May the kindness of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
Since you are precious in My sight, Since you are honored and I love you, I will give other people in your place and other nations in exchange for your life.Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, Lord, have not abandoned those who seek You.And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
And the one sown with seed among the thorns, this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have revived me.I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
I, I Myself, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of mortal man, And of a son of man who is made like grass.I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought that it was a ghost, and they cried out; for they all saw Him and were terrified. But immediately He spoke with them and said to them, “Take courage; it is I, do not be afraid.”But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
