- So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
- “For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. - No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
- Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord! - Because your steadfast love is better than life,

and a refuge in the day of my distress. - Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him. - And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
- This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
- Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
- Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful.
- And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
- And rend your hearts and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
and he relents over disaster. - Great peace have those who love your law;
nothing can make them stumble. - And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
