And sitting down, He called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” | And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. |
It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave. | But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. |
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. |
And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” | And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. |
And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” | And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. |
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. |
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, this is the one who will save it. | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. |
For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it? | For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? |
You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. | Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. |

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. | If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. |
For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want. | For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. |
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him. | But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. |
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. | The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. |

For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death. | For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. |
