| Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. | Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill. |
| The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. | Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. |

| Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost. | It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows. |
| I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath! | I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have any being. |
| Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. | Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets. |
| And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God. | Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. |
