Bible Verses about Debt

The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers. The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.
Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority. Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender. The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender.
Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.
But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?
The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you.For Yahweh your God will bless you, as he promised you. You will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow. You will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you.
Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time.Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
And forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them.Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”
No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money. No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
