Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. | Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. |
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. | If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. |
|
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. | Therefore, I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted to you. |
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. | The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked, what is perverted. |
Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will. | Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will. |
But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. | But as for you, proclaim the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. |
For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. | For if the willingness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. |
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? | For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? |
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? | For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul? |
But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” | But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” |
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? | The Lord is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me? |
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” | But just as it is written: “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the human heart, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.” |
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? | He has told you, mortal one, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God? |
Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? | And who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? |
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. | But if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly for it. |
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? | Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness? |
Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. | Do not worry about your life, as to what you are to eat; nor for your body, as to what you are to wear. For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. |
Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. | As for you, see that what you heard from the beginning remains in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. |
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? | For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? |
Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. | Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. |
Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? | What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before? |
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? |
What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? | What is man that You think of him, And a son of man that You are concerned about him? |
Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints. | I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. |
What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! | What then? Are we to sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Far from it! |
