| Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. | Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. |
| For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. | For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. |

| And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” | Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. |
| Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good. | He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. |
| And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. | And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. |
| For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. | For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. |
| Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. | If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. | But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. |

| Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. | He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. |
| Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am he. | Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am he. |
| Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. |
| Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. | Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. |
| Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord! | Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. |
| As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. | Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. |
| Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. | I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. |
| But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. | But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. |
| So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.” | Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. |
| All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. | And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. |
| Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. | Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. |
| And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. | And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. |
