| Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. | Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. |
| Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. | Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. |

| Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children. | Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children. |
| I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. |
| As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. | Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. |
| I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. | I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. |
| The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. | The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. |
| Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. | My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. |
| Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. | Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. |
| For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. | For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. |
| For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. | For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. |

| Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. | And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. |
| For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. | For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. |
| You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. | Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. |
| And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. | And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. |
| Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. | Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. | But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! | But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. |
| There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. | There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. |
| If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! | If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? |
| But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. | But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. |
| “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.” | And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. |
| Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. | Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life. |
| See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. | Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. |
