Bible Verses about 'Discipline'

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but the one who hates correction is stupid.Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction is stupid.
I reprove and discipline all those whom I love. Therefore, be sincere in your desire to repent. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
Blessed is the man whom God reproves. Therefore, do not reject the discipline of the Almighty.Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
My son, do not ignore the Lord’s discipline or refuse to accept his rebuke. For the Lord disciplines those whom he loves, just as a father chastises a beloved son.My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
At the time that discipline is received, it always seems painful rather than pleasant, but afterward it yields a harvest of peace and uprightness to those who have been trained by it.Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son.You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but rather a spirit of power and of love and of wisdom. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
A fool spurns his father’s correction, but whoever heeds admonition is prudent.A fool despises his father’s instruction, But he who receives correction is prudent.
Everyone who seeks a prize submits himself to rigorous self-discipline in every respect. They do so to win a perishable crown, while we seek an imperishable one.And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
The end of all things is near. Therefore, lead disciplined lives and be watchful in prayer. But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
Whoever heeds admonition is on the path to life, but anyone who rejects correction goes astray. He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, But he who refuses correction goes astray.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools are those who despise wisdom and instruction. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Remain sober and alert, for your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Therefore, prepare your minds for action. Be calm and fix your hopes completely on the grace that you will be granted at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit.A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
