This rather is the type of fast that I wish: to loosen the fetters of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to set free those who are oppressed and to break every yoke. | Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? |
Indeed, creation itself eagerly awaits the revelation of the children of God. | For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. |
May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ. | May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and into the perseverance of Christ. |
May God continue to bless us and be revered to the ends of the earth. | God will bless us. All the ends of the earth shall fear him. |
The upright are guarded by their integrity; the treacherous are destroyed by their own duplicity. | The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them. |
