Forgiveness (2/2)

Repent, therefore, and be converted so that your sins may be wiped away.Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, but now he commands people everywhere to repent. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
Return, rebel Israel, says the Lord. I will not look upon you in anger. For I am merciful, says the Lord; my wrath will not continue forever.‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord, ‘I will frown on you no longer, for I am faithful,’ declares the Lord, ‘I will not be angry forever.’
But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Yet even so, because of your great compassion, you did not completely destroy them, nor did you forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds, and I shall remember their sins no more. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.
Blessed is the one whose offense is forgiven, whose sin is erased.Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
When Jesus heard this, he said, “It is not the healthy who need a physician, but rather those who are sick.”On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”
Come now and let us discuss this, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow. Though they are as red as crimson, they shall become as white as wool.“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Therefore, I tell you that every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
However, the gift is not like the transgression. For if the transgression of one man led to the death of the many, how much greater was the overflowing effect of the grace of God and the gift of the one man Jesus Christ that has abounded for the many. But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
You will again show us compassion and wash away our guilt; you will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
Prepare in advance what you want to say, and return to the Lord. Say to him, “Take away all guilt and give us what is good, so that we may present as offerings the bullocks from our stalls.”Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to him: “Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.”
