- For so has the Lord commanded us to do, saying,
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles
so that you may bring salvation
to the farthest corners of the earth.’ - Then he said to them, “Go forth into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all creation.”
- As for me, I do not regard my life as of any value, only that I finish the race and complete the mission that I received from the Lord Jesus—to bear witness to the gospel of God’s grace.
- Nor would someone light a lamp and then put it under a basket; rather, it is placed upon a lampstand so that it may afford light to all in the house. In the same way, your light must shine so that it can be seen by others; this will enable them to observe your good works and give praise to your Father in heaven.
- Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the world.
- For I am not ashamed of the gospel, since it is the power of God that offers salvation to everyone who has faith—to Jews first, and then to Gentiles as well.
- Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name;
proclaim his deeds among the peoples. - So then, faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.
- Rather, revere Christ as Lord in your hearts.
Always be prepared to offer an explanation to anyone who asks you to justify the hope that is in you. However, do so with gentleness and respect. - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring the good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to prisoners
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free. - And now, brethren, I want to remind you of the gospel I proclaimed to you, which you received and in which you stand firm. Through it you are also being saved, provided that you are holding fast to what I proclaimed to you. If not, then you have believed in vain.
- You are the light of the world. A city built upon a mountain cannot be hidden.
- Preach the message; be persistent in doing so, whether in season or out of season; convince, reprove, and encourage, but with great patience and instruction.
- It was for this purpose that he called you through our gospel so that you might come to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the sake of the gospel will save it.
- And you will say on that day:
Give thanks to the Lord,
invoke his name;
make known his deeds among the nations;
proclaim that his name is exalted. - As for you, teach what is consistent with sound doctrine.
- This is how everyone will know
that you are my disciples:
if you love one another. - From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”
- I will, thereby, display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- Jesus answered, “Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive in this age a hundred times more houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and lands—as well as persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”
- You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can be done to make it salty once again? It is no longer good for anything, and thus it is cast out and trampled underfoot.
- By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - To these God chose to make known how rich is the priceless glory that this mystery brings to the Gentiles—Christ in you, your hope of glory.
- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem, but throughout Judea and Samaria, and indeed to the farthest ends of the earth.
For I resolved that, while I was with you, I would know nothing except Jesus Christ—and him crucified.Help us, O God, our Savior,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us and wipe away our sins
for your name’s sake. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vanity, but humbly regard others as better than yourselves.Next verse!With image
