Giving to the needy (2/4)

The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.The precepts of the Lord are right, causing the heart to rejoice. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving light to the eyes.
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be to you; just as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”“Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again. “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

On the contrary, repay with a blessing. This is what you were called to do, so that you might inherit a blessing.
For so the Lord has commanded us, ‘I have appointed You as a light to the Gentiles, That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’For so has the Lord commanded us to do, saying, ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles so that you may bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’
The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.During the day the Lord grants his kindness, and at night his praise is with me, a prayer to the living God.

So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.Therefore, whenever you give alms, do not trumpet your generosity, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets in order to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have already received their reward.
You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, so that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I am commanding you.You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
Now then, do away with the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.He continued, “Then put away the foreign gods from among you. Bend your heart to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.

And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, he is to be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.If he refuses to listen to them, report it to the Church. And if he refuses to listen to the Church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
And sitting down, He called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.”
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage battle according to the flesh.Although we are human beings, we do not engage in battle according to human standards.
And heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’Cure the sick who are there, and say, ‘The kingdom of God has come unto you.’
The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears are toward their cry for help.The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.

To do righteousness and justice Is preferred by the Lord more than sacrifice.To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
