Him (3/4)

Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.”Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.”
Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.”Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”But when they saw him walking on the water, they cried out in terror, thinking he was a ghost. They were all terrified when they saw him. But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage! I am here!”
When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.
While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.
And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.
For he has graciously granted you the privilege not only of believing in Christ, but of suffering for him as well. For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.
Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
This God—his way is perfect; the promise of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all who take refuge in him.God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
All who obey his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death.I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death.
For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
Over his head they put the charge against him, which read, “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”A sign was fastened above Jesus’ head, announcing the charge against him. It read: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
This God—his way is perfect; the promise of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all who take refuge in him.God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
And this is the boldness we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds — his name is the Lord— be exultant before him. Father of orphans and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord— rejoice in his presence! Father to the fatherless, defender of widows— this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.
Surely he has borne our infirmities and carried our diseases; yet we accounted him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted.Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!
Take good care to observe the commandment and instruction that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, and to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. But be very careful to obey all the commands and the instructions that Moses gave to you. Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.
Only fear the Lord, and serve him faithfully with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.
For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful. If you return to him, he will not continue to turn his face from you.

Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
