And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
In that I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, so that you may live and become numerous, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to take possession of it.If you obey the command that I give you today, to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways, and to observe his commandments, statutes, and decrees, then you will live and multiply, and the Lord, your God, will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.He is the reflection of God’s glory and the perfect expression of his very being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. Achieving purification from sins, he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Guarding the paths of justice, And He watches over the way of His godly ones.For he guards the paths of justice and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones.
But He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold. My foot has held on to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.And yet he is aware of everywhere I go; if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold. My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established; I have followed his way and never turned aside.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who wait for His faithfulness.But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those who trust in his kindness.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the sake of the gospel will save it.
By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit.This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit.
And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; All those who follow His commandments have a good understanding; His praise endures forever.The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who are guided by it will grow in understanding. His praise will last forever.
Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen for His own inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.
And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.The Lord God made clothing for the man and woman out of animal skins and he clothed them.
Praise the Lord! Blessed is a person who fears the Lord, Who greatly delights in His commandments.Alleluia. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his precepts.
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.A good man produces good from the store of goodness in his heart, whereas an evil man produces evil from the store of evil within him. For the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart.
The Lord also restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased double all that Job had.Thereupon the Lord restored the prosperity of Job after he had prayed for his friends, and he enriched him with twice as much as he had possessed before.
Who will repay each person according to his deeds.For God will repay everyone in accordance with what his deeds deserve.
If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless.If anyone thinks that he is religious but does not restrain his tongue, he is deceiving himself, and his religion is worthless.
Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who love Him and keep His commandments.Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments.
The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise the wife also to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise the husband also does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.A husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise a wife should fulfill her conjugal obligations to her husband. For a wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His provisions and His statutes which He has commanded you.You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.
A fool always loses his temper, But a wise person holds it back.A fool gives free rein to his anger, but a wise man bides his time and calms it.
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.And my God will fully supply all your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms. And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’In the netherworld, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham, far off, and Lazarus by his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in agony in these flames.’
