You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.
Now John himself wore clothing made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.John’s clothing was made of camel’s hair, with a leather loincloth around his waist, and his food consisted of locusts and wild honey.
It is he who builds his rooms in the heavens, and has founded his vault on the earth; he who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth—Yahweh is his name.He builds his upper chambers in the heavens and establishes his vault of the sky over the earth— the Lord is his name.
For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.For his anger lasts for only a moment, while his goodwill endures for a lifetime. Weeping may last throughout the night, but at daybreak there is rejoicing.
Of his own will he gave birth to us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation.
Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments and how unfathomable his ways!
In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.In Christ and through his blood we have redemption and the forgiveness of our sins. In accord with the riches of his grace.
He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith.The proud man’s heart is not upright, but the righteous man will live because of his faith.
I wait for Yahweh. My soul waits. I hope in his word.I wait for the Lord in anxious expectation; I place my hope in his word.
He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.When anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayer is detestable.
The Rock: his work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A God of faithfulness who does no wrong, just and right is he.He is a rock, his deeds are perfect, and all of his ways are just. He is a God of truth who does no wrong; he is just and upright.
In my distress I called on Yahweh, and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry before him came into his ears.In my anguish I cried out to the Lord and called to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.
Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Extol him who rides on the clouds: to Yah, his name! Rejoice before him! A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.Sing to God, sing praise to his name; exalt him who rides upon the clouds. Rejoice in the presence of this God whose name is the Lord. The Father of orphans and the defender of widows: such is God in his holy dwelling place.
But Yahweh’s loving kindness is from everlasting to everlasting with those who fear him, his righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep his covenant, to those who remember to obey his precepts.But from everlasting to everlasting the kindness of the Lord is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children, with those who keep his covenant and diligently observe his commandments.
The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, like an unscalable wall in his own imagination.The wealth of a rich man is his stronghold; he regards it as a high wall that cannot be scaled.
For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more certain it is that, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Or can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be scorched?Or can a man walk on red-hot coals without scorching his feet?
As he came out of his mother’s womb, naked shall he go again as he came, and shall take nothing for his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.Just as he came forth naked from his mother’s womb, so shall he depart, naked as he came, with nothing remaining from his labor that he can carry away in his hands.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.Finally, find your strength in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Praise Yahweh, my soul! All that is within me, praise his holy name!Bless the Lord, O my soul; my entire being, bless his holy name.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live in righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh, who walks in his ways.Blessed are all those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it.For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.Therefore, a Sabbath rest still remains for the people of God, since those who enter into God’s rest also cease from their own labors as God did from his.
