| And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. | And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. |
| For he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. | He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. |

| But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside. | But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. |
| This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. | Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. |
| This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. | In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
| The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. | Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. |
| As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. | Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. |
| But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. | Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. |
| The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. | Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. |
| Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. | Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. |
| Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. | Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. |
| There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. | There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. |
| Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. | Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. |
| No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. | Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. |
| The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. | Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. |
| Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews. | And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews. |
| Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. | He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. |
| The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. | He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. |
| Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. | Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. |

| If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable. | He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. |
| I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. | The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. |
| A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. | A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. |
| And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. | But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. |
| Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? | Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? |
