And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”

When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came to live together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the Antichrist, about whose coming you have been told, and that it is already in the world.
But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. However, the gift is not like the transgression. For if the transgression of one man led to the death of the many, how much greater was the overflowing effect of the grace of God and the gift of the one man Jesus Christ that has abounded for the many.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. The lips of the righteous utter words of kindness, but the mouth of the wicked knows only how to pervert.
He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity. One who is covetous will never be satisfied with money, nor will the lover of wealth be content with gain. This too is vanity.
Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with your whole heart, considering the great things he has done for you.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and allow no opportunity for the flesh to gratify its sinful desires.
Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin.
And in that day you will say: “Praise the Lord, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, Make mention that His name is exalted.”And you will say on that day: Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name; make known his deeds among the nations; proclaim that his name is exalted.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may attain eternal life.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself; thus my lips will speak your praise. I will bless you all my life; with uplifted hands I will call on your name.
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.We have come to know and to believe in the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.All those who keep his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And the proof that he abides in us is the Spirit that he has given us.
He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.He is a rock, his deeds are perfect, and all of his ways are just. He is a God of truth who does no wrong; he is just and upright.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.And if one should fall, his companion will help him up. How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls and has no one to assist him to his feet.
But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. But Jesus has now received a ministry that is far superior, for he is the mediator of a far better covenant that has been established on better promises.
Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come— that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles. But I have had help from God to this very day, and I stand here and testify to both the lowly and the great. I assert nothing more than what the Prophets and Moses said would occur: that the Christ must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles.
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. Each person should give as much as he has decided in his heart, not with reluctance or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.I further pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he has called you, how rich and glorious is his inheritance in the saints.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am wonderfully made; awesome are your works, as I know very well.
Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’?Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker, or to the pot that is displeased with the potter. Does the clay say to the one who molds it, “What are you doing? Your work makes no sense.”
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or how tall he stands, for the Lord has rejected him. He does not see the way that men see, for men look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. For I handed on to you as of primary importance what I received: that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
