Bible Verses about 'James: 2'

  • So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
  • You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
  • For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
  • From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
  • Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
  • For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.
  • But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
  • And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
  • You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask.
  • You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
  • Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  • Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
  • Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
  • There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
  • But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
  • Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
  • Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
  • For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.
  • If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
  • But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
  • Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass he will pass away.
  • Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
  • Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
  • Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
  • Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
