| Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” | Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. |
| By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. | By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. |

| Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. | My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. |
| Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” | Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. |
| Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” | Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. |
| Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. | All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. |
| If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. | Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. |
| This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. | Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. |
| And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. | And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. |
| For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. | For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. |
| Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. | He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. |
| Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” | Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? |
| This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. | Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. |
| Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. | Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? |
| And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
| I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. | These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. |
| And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. | And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. |
| When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. | And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. |
| And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. | And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. |
| Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. | If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. |
| Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me.” | Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. |
| The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. | And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. |
| No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. | Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. |
| My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. | I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. |
| If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. | If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. |
