Long for you (2/4)

After supper he took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.”And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be poured out for you.”
I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live.I am pulled in opposite directions. My desire is to depart and to be with Christ, for that is far better, but, it is a more urgent need for you that I remain in the body.
Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you.Arise and shine forth, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has dawned upon you.
O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!Ah, Lord God, you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and your outstretched arm. Nothing is impossible for you.
I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!I love the Lord because he has heard my voice and listened to my cry for mercy, because he has inclined his ear to me on the day when I called out to him.
O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.O God, you are my God, for whom I have been searching earnestly. My soul yearns for you and my body thirsts for you, like the earth when it is parched, arid and without water.
“Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. For you know that the testing of your faith will develop perseverance.
He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”Then he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.Even though I wander through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are at my side, with your rod and your staff that comfort me.
For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. This, in fact, is what you have been called to do, because Christ himself suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his footsteps.
Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.Because in my eyes you are precious, because you are honored and I love you, I will give people in exchange for you and nations in return for your life.
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.Rejoice always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you may ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you.
Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”For I know full well the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for your misfortune, plans that will offer you a future filled with hope.
For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free man, there is no longer male or female. For all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. But I will sing of your strength; when morning dawns, I will proclaim your kindness. For you have been my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.”
Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name.As we proceed in the path of your judgments, we wait for you, O Lord; your name and your renown are all that our heart desires.
Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. For sin is no longer to have any power over you, since you are not under the Law but under grace.
In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right. My soul longs for you throughout the night, and my spirit within me seeks your presence. For when your judgments are revealed to the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn to practice justice.

I will shout for joy and sing your praises, for you have ransomed me.When I sing to you, my lips will rejoice, and so will my soul, which you have redeemed.
