- As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for you, O God. - Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you. - The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.
- You know what I long for, Lord;
you hear my every sigh. - Don’t long for “the good old days.”
This is not wise. - When I refused to confess my sin,
my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long. - I lift my hands to you in prayer.
I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. - O Lord, I will honor and praise your name,
for you are my God.
You do such wonderful things!
You planned them long ago,
and now you have accomplished them. - So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.
- As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching.
- That is why I can never stop praising you;
I declare your glory all day long. - Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
- In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. - I will sing to the Lord as long as I live.
I will praise my God to my last breath! - Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you. - Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment.
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward
on a firm footing. - Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
- For you bless the godly, O Lord;
you surround them with your shield of love. - But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.
- Some people are always greedy for more,
but the godly love to give! - You have tested us, O God;
you have purified us like silver. - There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
- O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed;
if you save me, I will be truly saved.
My praises are for you alone! - O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
After supper he took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.”May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.Next verse!With image
