Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. | You shall walk in all the way which Yahweh your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess. |
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. | For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |
|
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. | Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers. |
Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. | Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. | One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. |
And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. | A highway will be there, a road, and it will be called “The Holy Way”. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it will be for those who walk in the Way. Wicked fools shall not go there. |
I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God. | I am Yahweh your God. Walk in my statutes, keep my ordinances, and do them. Make my Sabbaths holy. They shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God. |
As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man. | Like water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man. |
If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. | If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments, and do them, then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. |
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. | Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come. |
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. | But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. |
And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. | Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.” |
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? | What is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him? |
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. | For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. |
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. | It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man. |
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. | For this cause a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh. |
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. | They said to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.” These are those who cause divisions and are sensual, not having the Spirit. |
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. | But the free gift isn’t like the trespass. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. |
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. | For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous. |
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. | But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. |
He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. | He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out. |
The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar. | That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar. |
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. | So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. |
For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. | For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the ax. They deck it with silver and with gold. They fasten it with nails and with hammers, so that it can’t move. They are like a palm tree, of turned work, and don’t speak. They must be carried, because they can’t move. Don’t be afraid of them; for they can’t do evil, neither is it in them to do good. |
Who will render to every man according to his deeds. | Who “will pay back to everyone according to their works.” |
