The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace. | The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace. |
Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people. | Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah |

Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people. | Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. |
For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. | For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. |
What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. | Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. |
And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. | And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. |
But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” | Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.” |
He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. | Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. |
You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. | But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. |
Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.” | Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” |
So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. | There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. |
But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us! | But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You. |
God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him. | Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. |
This is what I told them: ‘Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Do everything as I say, and all will be well!’ | But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’ |
For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. | As free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. |
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. | For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. |
Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. | And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. |
Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you. | Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life. |
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. | But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. |
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. | If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. |
Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did? | Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? |
God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. | Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. |
What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. | Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake. |
Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord.’ | Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.”’ |
Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” | Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” |
