Let your “Yes” mean “Yes” and your “No” mean “No.” Otherwise you may be condemned. |
| ‘I am the Lord your God,’ I told them. ‘Follow my decrees, pay attention to my regulations, and keep my Sabbath days holy, for they are a sign to remind you that I am the Lord your God.’ | I, the Lord, am your God. | Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. | Brethren, if anyone is detected committing a transgression, you who are spiritual must set him right in a spirit of gentleness. Meanwhile, you should take care so that you yourselves are not tempted. |
| I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. | Brethren, I exhort you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to be in full agreement with one another and not permit any divisions to arise among you. Be perfectly united in mind and purpose. |
| Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. | Be joyful in your hope. Be patient in times of affliction. Persevere in prayer. |
| Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. | Keep alert; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. |
