Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.
I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people.
To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king's matter.I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded.
I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me.I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?
Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.
Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.”But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me.”
You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”That is why the Lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.”
I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!
Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me.I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
