| But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. | But the free gift is not like the offense. | The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. | Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. |
| Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last. | The wicked man does deceptive work, But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. |
| Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful. | He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he. |
| God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor? | There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? |
