Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.”What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus.Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.
Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
My child, if your heart is wise, my own heart will rejoice!My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!”Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit.If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.
And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath.How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies!Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine.

Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
