| So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. | A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. |

| Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. | And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins. |

That prophet has spoken without my authority and need not be feared. | You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?” When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him. |
| There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. | A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. |
| Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses. | Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all wrongs. |
| Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last. | Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. |
| True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. | The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh is wealth, honor, and life. |
| Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. | Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good. |
| And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. | This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother. |
| A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ | A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ |
| This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. | This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. |

Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil. |
| When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. | In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples. |
| Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. | Those who love your law have great peace. Nothing causes them to stumble. |
| There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. | Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. |
| In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. | Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. |
| Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them. | One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him. |
| Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. | The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. |
| Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. | By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. |
