| I ate no delicacies, no meat or wine entered my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, for the full three weeks. | I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. |
| I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. | And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. | And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. |
| But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. | But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
| He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. | Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. |

| What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? |
| The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him. | It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. |
| No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. | No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. |
