| But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ. | Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. |
| I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in straight paths. | I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. |
| Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving. | Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. |
