| Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. | Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. |

| But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. | But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. |
| And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. | Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. |

For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. | Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
