Bible Verses about Debt

The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.
Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Bible verse of the day

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
and why art thou disquieted within me?
hope thou in God:
for I shall yet praise him,
who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
