The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
