For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, Than great treasure with trouble.

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own esteem.

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
