So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.’ Zechariah 1:4	“Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying, ‘This is what the Lord of armies says: “Return now from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not listen or pay attention to Me,” declares the Lord. conversion listening

God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Matthew 5:11	Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. blessing persecution gossip
Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. Hebrews 3:12	Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. anger heart neighbor
It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong. Ecclesiastes 8:11	Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of mankind among them are fully given to do evil. sin heart punishment
Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened.

When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their evil way, then God relented of the disaster which He had declared He would bring on them. So He did not do it.
