Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.Nuž, hore sa! S radosťou požívaj chlieb a popíjaj víno pri dobrej nálade, lebo Boh mal už dávno radosť z tvojich diel.
Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me.Nepravdivosť a lživú reč (ráč) vzdialiť odo mňa! Nedávaj mi ani chudobu, ani bohatstvo, udeľ mi (vždy iba toľko, koľko) potrebujem na živobytie.
I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.Poznal som, že pre nich niet lepšieho, ako radovať sa a dopriať si blaženosti vo svojom živote. Aj to, že všetci ľudia môžu jesť a piť a dopriať si blaženosti za všetku svoju námahu, je dar od Boha.
Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.Preto vám hovorím: Nebuďte ustarostení o život, čo budete jesť, ani o telo, čo si oblečiete. Veď život je viac ako jedlo a telo viac ako odev.
I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.Viem žiť skromne a viem aj oplývať. Všade a všetko som sa už naučil: byť sýty aj hladovať, mať hojnosť i núdzu trieť.
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”V posledný, veľký deň sviatkov Ježiš vstal a zvolal: „Ak je niekto smädný a verí vo mňa, nech príde ku mne a nech pije.“
Behold, what I have seen to be good and fitting is to eat and drink and find enjoyment in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of his life that God has given him, for this is his lot.
“All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.„Slobodno všetko.“ Ale nie všetko osoží. „Slobodno všetko.“ Ale nie všetko buduje.
Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.Aj to, ak niekomu z ľudí Boh udelil bohatstva, majetku (prehojne), a doprial mu možnosť užívať z neho a prevziať si tento svoj podiel, aby sa mohol radovať za všetky námahy; to je zaiste Boží dar - takáto (vec).
The vine dries up; the fig tree languishes. Pomegranate, palm, and apple, all the trees of the field are dried up, and gladness dries up from the children of man.Vinič vyschol, figovníky uvädli, granátniky i palmy a jablone, všetky stromy poľa vyschli, áno, zmizla radosť u ľudí.
Now John wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.Ján nosil odev z ťavej srsti a okolo bedier kožený opasok. Potravou mu boli kobylky a lesný med.
