| What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? |
| But I have been the Lord your God ever since you came out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me. | Yet I have been the Lord your God Since the land of Egypt; And you were not to know any god except Me, For there is no savior besides Me. |

| And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord. | So I will prove Myself great, show Myself holy, and make Myself known in the sight of many nations; and they will know that I am the Lord. |
| Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. | Hear, Israel! | These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. | For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. |
| But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. | But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. |
| Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. | You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? | I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes. | “And I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them. | You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. | You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. |
| To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices. | And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices. |
