| Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and whose hope is the Lord. They will be like a tree planted by the water that spreads out its roots to the stream. When the heat comes, it does not fear; its leaves stay green. It is not concerned in a year of drought, and it never fails to bear fruit. | Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose confidence is in Yahweh. For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green, and will not be concerned in the year of drought. It won’t cease from yielding fruit. |
| For I know full well the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for your misfortune, plans that will offer you a future filled with hope. | “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.” |
| When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you. | You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. |
| Call to me and I will answer you and reveal to you great and mysterious secrets about which you are unaware. | Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know. |
| When you search for me, you will find me. When you seek me with all your heart. | You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. |
| I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything impossible for me to accomplish? | Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me? |
| Ah, Lord God, you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and your outstretched arm. Nothing is impossible for you. | Ah Lord Yahweh! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you. |
| Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved; you are the one whom I praise. | Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved; for you are my praise. |
| The heart is more deceitful than any other thing, and it is also perverse. Who can uncover its secrets? I, the Lord, search the heart and probe the mind to reward all according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve. | The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it? “I, Yahweh, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.” |
| Can someone hide in a secret place so that I cannot see him? Do I not fill heaven and earth? | “Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says Yahweh. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says Yahweh. |
